BAY COLT by 'EXCEED AND EXCEL' X 'ANGEL ALYDAR' (SOLD)

This is a colt by the outstanding 2003/04 Australian Champion Sprinter Exceed and Excel, a dual Group 1 winner and son of the legendary stallion Danehill and out of a mare from an outstanding pedigree with strong French and American influences. This is Exceed and Excel’s first crop born in the Northern hemisphere but he has already made a tremendous start with his first Southern hemisphere crop in Australia, siring a Group 3 winner and Listed winner so far. His sire Danehill is an outstanding sire of sires including Danetime, Dansili, Danehill Dancer and the Champion Australian stallion Redoute’s Choice.

This colt's dam Angel Alydar is by one of the best horses to race in the USA in the last 20 years, Alysheba, winner of the Kentucky Derby and US Horse of the Year in 1988. Alysheba is an influential broodmare sire and the outstanding George Washington was also out of a mare by Alysheba. Angel Alydar comes from a pedigree of Champions and has already bred a winner and another placed horse with her first two runners in the USA. She is a half-sister to L’Orangerie, a stakes winner in France and dam of Cardmania, the fastest horse in the USA in 1993 when he was the Champion Sprinter there having won the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint. The grandam Liska was a stakes winner in France and importantly she is a half-sister to Irish River, Champion two-year-old and three-year-old in France in 1978/79 and winner of seven Group 1 races at up to one mile. He has also become an influential stallion.

This is a pedigree that shouts “Speed” with a Champion Australian Sprinter as a sire and a Champion American Sprinter close up in the damline.
