BAY COLT by 'EXCEED AND EXCEL' x 'MISS TARDY'

This is a colt by the outstanding 2003/04 Australian Champion Sprinter 'Exceed and Excel', a dual Group 1 winner and son of the legendary stallion 'Danehill' and out of a mare from one of the Aga Khan's most notable families.

His dam 'Miss Tardy', has already produced a winner in France with her first runner on the track. She is by the Derby and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner 'Lammtarra' (by the great 'Nijinsky') and she is a half-sister to Group 2 Pretty Polly Stakes winner Takarouna and Group 2 Dante Stakes winner 'Torjoun'. In addition 'Takarouna' has been very productive as a broodmare, breeding a pair of high-class performers; 'Takarian' and 'Takali'. 'Takarian' earned £327,000 in his career, winning the Group 2 American Handicap twice among his four Group/Graded wins between Ireland and the USA while 'Takali' won two Group races in Ireland including the Group 2 Royal Whip Stakes. The second dam, 'Tarsila', won two races in France and is a full-sister to the Group 1 French Derby winner Top Ville who is also a leading stallion.

All the above Group winners campaigned at between 1 ¼ and 1 ½ miles so the injection of raw speed into the pedigree from 'Exceed and Excel' could potentially produce a horse with more speed and precocity, possibly a mile horse. This is 'Exceed and Excel's first crop born in the Northern hemisphere. His sire 'Danehill' is an outstanding sire of sires including 'Danetime', 'Dansili', 'Danehill Dancer' and the Champion Australian stallion 'Redoute's Choice'.

In addition this colt is bred along the same lines as 2006 1000 Guineas winner 'Speciosa'. She was also by a son of 'Danehill' (in this case 'Danehill Dancer') out of a mare who was by a son of 'Nijinsky' (in this case 'Sky Classic'), the same bloodlines as this colt.
