BAY COLT by 'SPARTACUS' X 'EASTERN RUBY' (SOLD)

This is a colt by Spartacus, a dual Group 1-winning son of sire of sires Danehill, who is also the sire of the tremendous stallions Dansili, Danehill Dancer and Danetime. Spartacus won the Group 1 Waterford Independent Phoenix Stakes and the Group 1 Gran Criterium at two and has made a good start with his first crop of two-year-olds this year, siring plenty of winners including a stakes winner.

This colt’s dam Eastern Ruby is by the top-class two-year-old Be My Chief, winner of the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy and a sire of Group 1 winners. His daughters are responsible for producing many quality horses including the four-time Group 1 winner in Hong Kong, Viva Pataca, one of the best horses in the world.

The grandam Taufan Blu was a notably tough and consistent sprinter who won four races between five and seven furlongs and was placed 13 times including twice in stakes races. She in turn is a sister to Petersford Girl who was also placed in a stakes race over sprint distances plus La Belle Vie who won seven races and bred six winners including Maktavish who won 11 races and was placed in a stakes race as a two-year-old. In the next generation of the pedigree is Atall Atall who won a stakes race as a two-year-old at Royal Ascot, the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes.

This is a prolific winner producing family of classy, speedy horses and this colt has all the credentials to be another and be potentially competitive at a higher level.
