Jim Carney
Jim Carney is the founder and managing director of Irish Racing Shares.
Jim is a successful business man who has run his own transport company for eight years. Like a lot of entrepreneurs, he wanted to extend his love of racing into the owning of racehorses and set about joining a syndicate. The experience was not a happy one. The horse in question turned out to be moderate but the cost did not reflect that fact.
Jim determined that there must be a better way and following a chance meeting with the Stack family, he put together a small syndicate. It is Jim who effectively runs Irish Racing Shares and the knowledge he brings to the table includes a terrific grasp of the form book, exceptional race-reading abilities and shroud skill as a paddock judge.
